Our vision

Ensuring sustainable performance through data intelligence

At MOTEN, we are convinced that sustainable performance requires a nuanced understanding of movement. Thanks to MMG, we make training loads, functional imbalances, and peripheral compensations visible.

Whether it's preparing an athlete, preventing injury, ensuring a return to play, or studying motor skills with precision, our technology quantifies the invisible without hindering performance.

our use cases

Tailor-made solutions for every sport

Optimizing specific physical preparation

Supplement your programs with objective data: adjust training loads and individualize your plans.

Preventing and detecting injuries

Spot signs of fatigue or compensation, target injury-prone areas, and identify issues before they impact your athletes' performance.

Supporting return-to-play

Support every stage of the return to performance: track progress, objectify recovery levels, and adapt training loads with confidence.

MOTEN for precision sports

Deploy a unique tool dedicated to precision disciplines: measure tremor levels, improve postural stability, and train your athletes.

Project

Kuehne+Nagel prevents MSDs in logistics

Expertise

At the Kuehne+Nagel site in Mer, MOTEN analyzed the actual activity of order pickers in the tile sector. Five operators wore six sensors on their shoulders, arms, and back. The measurements were cross-referenced with on-site observations and interviews. More than 250,000 data points were processed to compare 5 tasks, 3 product families, and 2 ways of handling products. The measurements identified picking as the priority task to address. They also showed that short tasks, such as reorganizing or securing a pallet, require significant effort. Certain operator movements significantly reduce the load: sliding the product rather than carrying it reduces effort by up to 15%.

Solution

Two workshops brought together operators, managers, and the QHSE department to find solutions based on real-world issues encountered on the floor. 35 potential solutions were identified. Each was evaluated based on three criteria: ease of implementation, benefit to the operator, and cost. 15 of these were classified as priorities. These include: - Sharing best practices already used by some operators; - Installing wedges to hold tiles in place on pallets; - Testing pallet drawers to avoid reaching deep into the back; - Testing a gripping tool for bags; - Evaluating a back exoskeleton. The entire process was conducted in three weeks, from measurement to the action plan.

I am satisfied with the project and the results obtained. I particularly appreciate being able to transform the operators' feedback into concrete, measurable data thanks to the information collected. This provides results that are highly visual and accessible to everyone.

Project

Bosch x MOTEN - Vibration study on a range of Bosch tools

Expertise

Professional tools and equipment for construction and industry

Solution

Development of a reproducible protocol for measuring hand-arm vibrations under real-world working conditions. Using sensors worn by the operator, the study characterizes the actual exposure transmitted to the hands and objectively assesses the influence of the tool, the consumable, the material, and the technique. It incorporates analysis of the daily exposure value A(8), the effect of anti-vibration gloves, and the frequency signature of the machines, providing a reliable basis for better measuring vibration-related risks, comparing products, and reducing the risk of MSDs.

Through this partnership with Moten, we wanted to provide our clients and teams with answers and a reliable experimental protocol regarding vibrations from power tools. To better interpret this issue rather than simply relying on a basic comparison of data found in manuals, we wanted to understand and characterize what was actually happening in the field, and thereby be able to support our clients and engineers through the results of this study. Mission accomplished thanks to this partnership and Moten's expertise.

Project

Derichebourg Multiservices × MOTEN: Building a hardship framework for the cleaning industry

Expertise

Cleaning and facility management

Solution

Faced with high accident rates and significant physical demands, MOTEN implemented a two-stage approach. First, a co-construction phase: through a series of interviews and workshops with managers, musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) prevention coordinators, and employees, 14 hardship factors were identified and formalized into a framework shared across the entire company. In parallel, MOTEN sensors were worn by 16 volunteers across 7 different job roles and 3 pilot sites. The data collected (muscular effort, awkward postures, vibration exposure) was cross-referenced with operator feedback to create an objective and comprehensive picture of on-site challenges. Based on this, MOTEN supported Derichebourg Multiservices in developing a concrete action plan: 32 solutions were identified, prioritized, and validated for short- and medium-term implementation. Beyond immediate actions, this project primarily resulted in the creation of a hardship detection tool that can be deployed across the entire entity and integrated into the training program for MSD prevention coordinators.
